WOW! When I thought about what Rome was resolution to be c be before we arrived, I did not attend half of what it was! The architecture of the city was absolutely breathtaking. We went to or so of the highlights: the Colloseum, plaza Venezia, Castel Sant Angelo, The Vatican, Pompeii (and Naples on a day trip), Piazza del Poppollo, the Roman Forum, Trevi Fountain, the Spanish steps, the Pantheon, and many, many more. On the tours, we were told fascinating things, from people who really knew what they were talk about! For example, the Collosuem was built in hardly under 8 years, by thousands of slaves! It was mad to think about how things were built in the 70s B.C. and further. We found that the Vatican was a slight waste of money, as we traipsed done 56 rooms, until we got to the Sistine Chapel (which was hot, noisy and we were packed in like Sardines!). However, we recommend that you wait until it rains and because go to see the Vatican guards in their rain uniforms - it is a hoot! The Italian people were busy, unaccompanied not rude as some people may state, and did not have time to stop and chat.
